If we are angry then do some of the following things:
1. Ask God for protection from the devil by reading istiadzah
Sulaiman bin Surad said:
Meaning: “I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, and there were two men who were insulting each other. The face of one of them turned red, and the veins in his neck tensed. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed, I know a saying that if he utters it, what he feels will disappear from him. If he says: “A’ūdzu billāhi mina ash-syaitānir rajīm” (I seek refuge in Allah from Satan), then what he feels will disappear from him.” [HR. Muttafaq Alaih]
2. Shut up and calm yourself down by sitting or lying down
The Prophet said:
Meaning: “If one of you is angry, then keep quiet.” [HR. Ahmad, 1/329]
From Abu Dzarr that the Prophet said:
Meaning: “When one of you gets angry while standing, then sit down. If the anger does not go away then lie down (to the right or left)” [HR. Abu Daud, 4782. Authentic Hadith]
3. Always remember the Prophet’s message about the prohibition of venting anger because those who can control their anger will be rewarded with Paradise.
The Prophet said:
From Abu Hurairah that a man said to the Prophet: “Give me advice! The Prophet said:
Do not get angry! He replied bitterly: Do not get angry
Meaning: “Do not get angry!” The man repeated his request several times. The Prophet still said: ‘Do not get angry!'” [HR. Bukhari, 6116]
In another hadith, the Prophet said:
Do not get angry, and you will have Paradise
Meaning: “Do not get angry, and you will have Paradise” [HR. Al-Tabrani, authentic Hadith in Sahih al-Jami’]
That’s it.
Hopefully it can be useful.
